Château d’Orion
The castle’s superb cuisine pays homage to the rich aromas of the
region. Meals are served in the dining hall or, weather permitting, outdoors
under an old sycamore tree with a breathtaking view of the Pyrenees.
Chateau d’Orion has seen much over the centuries and has always
been a meeting place for communicative personages. Often they also made
history, as did the well known surgeon Paul Reclus in the middle of the
nineteenth century, who experimented with cocaine as a form of anesthesia
or his brother Elisée, who was not only one of France’s most
famous geographers, but also one of her most famous anarchists.
To perpetuate this cultural heritage and to revive this intellectual microcosm,
is one of the goals which the Premauer family has set for itself. „L’amour
et la vie“, life and love, have returned to the hearth of Chateau
d’Orion, as the former owner Marguerite Labbé has also confirmed.
To this end, the Chateau offers special events, such as the Denkwochen,
a symbiosis of inspiration and vacation, as well as the Rencontre d’Orion
for guests from the region. The Chateau is also perfect as a small but
exquisite location for conferences or as a retreat for special meetings.
The Chateau provides an intimate setting to bring people together for
a stimulating exchange of ideas.
Thus insights are gained, thought processes refined and new ideas for
work and life are generated.
„A wonderful balance between beauty and intellectual stimulation,
esthetics and inspiration.“
Julian Nida-Rümlin, former German minister of culture
